Health and Well Being

How does a changing climate affect the health and well-being of people in Wisconsin? Some notable impacts and risks to human health from climate change include (but are not limited to) health risks posed by extreme, prolonged heat, impaired air quality, waterborne diseases and bacteria in floodwaters, increased particulate matter from wildfire smoke or dust, and more favorable conditions for mosquito and tick-borne diseases. To learn more about the impacts of climate change on Wisconsin’s communities, check out the science-based assessments from the various WICCI working groups.
