Community Development

How does Wisconsin’s changing climate affect communities? Some notable impacts to Wisconsin’s communities from climate change include (but are not limited to) damage to infrastructure from extreme rainfall events, urban heat island effects in metropolitan areas, increased coastal flooding and erosion issues in coastal communities, and the economic impact of changes in recreation opportunities. To learn more about the impacts of climate change on Wisconsin’s communities, check out the science-based assessments from the various WICCI working groups.
